Editorial Policy

This page describes the rules our editorial process follows — the same rules for every product, every niche, every review. We publish it because trust shouldn’t require taking our word for it; you should be able to check how we work.

Independence from advertisers

No vendor, advertiser, or affiliate partner influences our findings. Specifically:

  • No paid rankings. Nobody can pay for a better verdict, a higher placement, or a more flattering headline.
  • No paid reviews. We don’t accept payment in exchange for covering — or for not covering — a product.
  • No draft approval. Vendors don’t see our reviews before publication and can’t request changes to our conclusions.
  • No removal requests honored for criticism. A vendor unhappy with an honest finding can submit a factual correction (see below); they can’t have criticism deleted.

Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions when readers choose to buy through our links — never from vendors buying influence. Read the full Affiliate Disclosure for details.

How products are chosen for review

We pick products based on reader interest, search demand, and market relevance — not on commission rates or vendor relationships. Reader suggestions through our Contact page genuinely drive a large share of what we cover. We also revisit popular categories over time so our guidance doesn’t go stale.

Research standards

Our reviews are research-based. Our methodology — what we check, what we verify, and what we deliberately don’t claim — is documented on our How We Review page. Two standards matter most here:

  • Documented claims only. If we state a fact about a product — its price, its guarantee terms, its ingredients — it comes from an official or verifiable source, not from marketing copy repeated uncritically.
  • No fabricated testing. We never invent lab results, trial outcomes, personal “we tried it for 30 days” narratives, or customer testimonials. When our research has limits, we say so in the review itself.

Corrections

We work hard to get facts right, and we don’t always succeed. When an error is brought to our attention — by a reader, a vendor, or our own re-checks — we investigate and correct it promptly. Significant corrections to a published review are noted within the article so readers can see what changed. You can report an error any time via our Contact page; factual corrections with a verifiable source get priority.

Updates to reviews

Products change: prices move, formulas get revised, refund policies tighten. We periodically revisit published reviews — especially high-traffic ones — and update them when something material has changed. Each review carries a publication or update date so you can judge how fresh it is.

The short version: we research independently, we write what we find, nobody pays for the verdict, and we fix our mistakes in the open. If you ever feel a review didn’t live up to this policy, tell us — that feedback is how the policy stays honest.
